My suggestion would be to go out and get a new HDD and motherboard (just make sure you get the same mobo you have now.)

I just replaced the mobo four months ago, replacing it again would require another fifty dollars to have it swapped out, and having the person I bought it for RMA me another one. Unless the mobo is DEFINITELY the issue, I hesitate to do this.

Are you using the latest BIOS? Have you tried switching the HD to a different SATA header?
