I fell down steps and busted my back!
Last night, I was transporting a humidor to the basement and I somehow lost my balance because I was wearing stupid socks. I bit it Hard, landing right on the small of my back. I DID NOT spill the humidor, so I did not have my hands to help break the fall. I'll be honest...I teared up a bit! I thought it was busted!
Went to the doc this morning and he analyzed it and did some tests. I was shocked that he didn't suggest an Xray...but he's the doc, right? Anyways, he put me on quarters and some Tylenol 3 and some other trippy stuff to head ease the pain! Looks like a shorter week than I had expected!

Boone, you'll heal. The humi and it's contents won't, so, you sacrificed the bod for a good cause.

Jeez Jimmeh, sounds pretty gruesome. Hope you recover quickly. Take care of yourself, and don't go rushing back full steam just because you feel a little bit better.
Tell the truth though, you did this so you wouldn't get grief over watching football all day on Thanksgiving, and so you would get your dinner brought to you in your chair.

Sucks, Boone! Take it easy for a bit; those back bangs can sneak up on you a few days later! At least you saved the smokes!

At least your priorities were in order and you saved the smokes. Better to be busted up, than be busted up with smashed up useless smokes.
 Sorry to hear of your spill, but at least you get to squeeze a couple more days off for the holiday. Now go take some pain killers and light up a nice long smoke and relax!

yeah, I don't even think the cigars bounced around at all in the humi. I subconsciously kept them level to took the blow to my back....mmmm, meds are kickin in...

Sorry to hear about the fall, although you did the right thing by sacrificing your body for the good of you smokes. I've fallen down the stairs in similar fashion at my house, although usually it's the beer in my hand that I don't spill. Hmm, I wonder if that beer has anything to do with the fall also.....it's a mystery.
Hope you feel better. Sit around a smoke, what else can you do? |
