You and your family will be in my prayers to come. Get in touch with your local Red Cross, I know when a tornado sent two trees flying into my house they helped put us up for a few days.

Re: Tragedy in my house.....

Look man, I know it's easy for me to say it will be OK and be thankful cause I haven't been through it. But I have been through some other things that have brought me to the brink...

There will be a better day.

Fight through this hard time for your wife, your daughter and for yourself. If you can't rebuild the same life, make something new. You have your family, and this what its all built around and for anyway.

Geting a councelor is a good step to make. I don't have anyone to recommend, but I think Hospices provide grief counceling to local communities, you could try that.

I will be praying for you.

Re: Tragedy in my house.....

I remember the night my sister's house burned down very clearly, as well as the weeks afterward. They were fortunate that they were insured but it was an incredible ordeal for them nonetheless.

Keep your head up: it was very difficult but as it turns out, when they finally got back on their feet they actually turned out better situated than they were before. Hard to think of such a possibility now, I know, but recognize it as a possibility and a goal.

You might look into a local church if you do not already attend one, the Salvation Army, etc. They can direct you to trained counselors, be of help in terms of physical needs, etc. Talk to your local PD to see about Toys for Tots, maybe your local VFW, too. These probably have already been suggested to you, but there are people out there literally waiting to help you if you look for them and let them know you need help.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Re: Tragedy in my house.....

Sorry to hear about your loss, we're praying for you. Make sure you get to talk to someone about this. I know you don't think so, but 29 is still young. You have plenty of time to recover from this, but it will take time. There were many houses lost in San Diego and I think the Red Cross is helping out here.

Re: Tragedy in my house.....

Stay strong my brother. This past summer, my wife lost her mother and I lost my little brother within two weeks of each other, I'd gladly give everything that I own to have them back. You're lucky that you still have your family - and that they're safe. YES, you're going through a difficult time, but you have a whole jungle of brothers here standing behind you. Granted I'm not a licensed anything, but if you ever need someone to talk to regardless of the time of day, PM me and I'll give you my cell. Once you get settled in somewhere, PM me your address, I might have a thing or two to help out.

Stay strong and be well.

Re: Tragedy in my house.....

I was in an accident that killed 19 people in December 1972.

Get some counsel and get some help if possible.

Prayers and best wishes.
