The Student
What is it about a good cigar that makes a man feel better? Indeed, think better? Or dare I say it: appreciate his existence when he needs something to appreciate.
I know I may sound like I smoke clove cigarettes, but you see, I am a philosophy student. No, I don't walk around screaming, 'why?', angrily shaking my fist at the sky. I actually am a young philosophy major and, though I'm not looking for some kind of spiritual experience with cigars. I just sit amongst the acacia trees on campus and silently puff. I'm just really sure that taking my time with a fine one, I can really sort out my thoughts... and if anything, sometimes that makes all the difference. Just my .

Re: The Student
Great insight, brotha. A lot of people think that cigar smokers find some sort of nirvana when they smoke... well, when we smoke! And don't get me wrong, we do, but the cigar itself, while immensely enjoyable, is not what creates that. It's a vessel for us to get to that place, it gives us a chance to sit back and appreciate the cigar. That appreciation allows us to forget all the negative in our life for that 20 minutes to 2 hours (or 10 hours, depending on how long you herf!), and I that's why I smoke!

Re: The Student
Hell I am 38 and that is the reason I enjoy my stogies. I know when I fire that puppy up I am in for a good hour of pure relaxation. It really does feel like a moment of nirvana.

Re: The Student
I think the ideal way to enjoy a cigar is not to find the time for one, but rather for the cigar to make time for you. I subscribe to the theory that time is relative to experience, so it makes sense to me that the cigar fuses the senses, somehow slowing down time. That is, if only for a moment.
Though I kinda wish time would hurry up so that I wouldn't be bound to this damn student budget!
