When I worked as a dental receptionist, after a while it was easy to blank out all the screaming from the surguries.......................... lol

Nah, the majority of procedures today are painless IF you have a good dentist. As for whether you can smoke, we advised patients to not smoke for 24 to 48 hours after an extraction, simply because that was an open wound. For a root canal, your best option is to ask your dentist. If they say you shouldn't smoke at all then just say "Its my choice whether I smoke or not" and then repeat the question, but don't get shirty, nice and polite.

Oh, and if you like your dentist, give him/her a bottle of wine or something. My dad loves it when a patient (he's been a dentist for about 20 years now) gives him a bottle of wine or whisky, says that its nice to see that some people still give a crap about their dentist.

well, that seemed to have taken FOREVER! I swear my mouth was locked open for almost 2 hours! But the doc seemed to know what he was doing and there was very little pain. Yeah, I am happy it went well. Gotta go back next week and put a crown or cap or whatever. Thanks for all the well wishes and very special thanks for Santa watching from the closet!

Oh, and I may celebrate with a Serie JJ Maduro tonight if they arrive today!

My neighbors only had a cardboard box and a jar of sugar cubes. Never could find those shows on regular TV.
