yes, this is a silly thread and I love it!

It makes me want to go buy an Excursion and drive around with the windows down and the A/C on full blast getting 5 miles to the gallon. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for saving the environment, but I've also got this medical condition called Compulsive Defiance Syndrome. It makes me want to do all kinds of crazy things (like wear brimmed beanies), just because someone said I shouldn't.

I'm with you, Darb. I'll protect my lil corner of the planet in my own way and don't need a daily diatribe from the Captain Planets around me talking about his organic vegetable garden where he uses his homemade compost or his power saving method of doing everything in the dark, including dressing. Let those self-righteous pompous idiots go hugs their trees somewhere else, I prefer to scratch mine discretely behind their limbs.

Seriously though, I'm able to enjoy (and share) some tasty smokes with the money that I save on gas.

I bought a hybrid car in 2005 so I could cut down on my yearly gasoline expenses (and maybe partially to help do my part to cut down on our dependence on foreign oil). Also, the $3000 tax credit helped offset my cigar purchases for the next couple of years.

I don't go around bragging or extolling the virtues of my car, but I'm happy to tell people my personal experiences when they ask.

However I could go on and on about drivers who don't use their signals ... or don't have a clue how to merge properly ... or can't park between the lines ... or

I own my car so there's no car payment. I drive an older car so my insurance is almost nothing. My car gets 18mpg city/24 highway but I only drive like 10 miles a day. I would love to have a hybrid and only have to buy gas every 2 months or so but I believe I'm as green as I can get.

Southpark did an episode about this exact thing. Funny stuff.
