converting media files to dvd format
I have a ton of shows that my DVR copied to my computer and some other media files and I am looking for a free program I can use to convert them to DVD format so I can burn them on a DVD. Any Help?

You need to know this if you want them to be playable on most DVD players. Otherwise you can just burn them onto a DVD as data, without the need of a converter, for viewing on PCs only.

If you want to be able to play them back into your DVD player, you'll need DVD authoring software. Try this out:
