Aftermarket Performance Parts
Alright guys, I need some help. I having some a lot of issues finding a good website for Aftermarket performance parts for a 2001 dodge stratus. I looking for a website with a good selection and the main requirement is a wish list! Every site I find that does have a good selection, never has a wish list, and its starting to drive me crazy.

Re: Aftermarket Performance Parts
Considering many of the parts are interchangable between the Neon (I use to own an ACR Neon for SCCA Solo 2 racing) and the Stratus, have you checked out www.modernperformance.com ? I forgot if they have a wish list, but you could also hit up www.neons.org and check out the Gen 1 performance mesasge boards for ideas and subjects. They cover the entire range from engine mods, suspension and handling mods, drivetrain, chassis mods, and cosmetics stuff as well. They also have a in-depth boards on covering the subject such as stand-alone engine management (using the MegaSquirt DIY engine controller) as well as forced induction (there are multiple turbo kits for the Neon that can be added to the Stratus as well... as long as you're using the 2.4L I4).
Good luck with that, and have fun. It's a reassuring feeling to know that you're only a junkyard away from having a new engine (considering the volume of Stratus/Breezes/Cirrus cars out there you could gut parts from).

Re: Aftermarket Performance Parts
Make sure you build your engine up before you try boosting it. I'd imagine your engine can take maybe 7 psi on stock internals, you will want to put new rods, retainers, pistons, and get it P&P before you try boosting more psi. Let's face it, 7 psi is a waste it won't net you much HP.

Re: Aftermarket Performance Parts
You know an eBay CAI is just the same as an Injen right? And about 200 cheaper? I buy eBay CAI's and put K&N filters on them.

Re: Aftermarket Performance Parts
why the stratus? if your about to throw that much money into the car... i mean a SOLID reliable turbo (
reliable turbos...) with engine work why not swap the whole frick'n engine out for a better one? not sure what exactly fits into the stratus. But i have a nissan 240sx put away in storage right now and i was doing research looking for engine swaps. The SR20DET after all the upgrades and shit i'd wanna do with it would be about 7k total spent (including engine and everything along with it). An RB25det would be about 8k spent total and an rb20det well... why would i want that parts are hard as HELL to find not to mention only getting hard plus most of them come in from japan all crapped out and gunked up from oil sitting in them unlike the RB25DET japan doesn't bother cleaning the RB20DET since they are worthless engines to them.SO i decided on going BIG i mean... LS1 350 big. for under 2k i can get all the custom mounts driveshaft everything i need to convert my car to fit the engine and the set up. For another 600? i think i can get aftermarket headers and for anywhere from 4-5k i can get a pretty good LS1 with low miles (my buddy in SOCAL can hook me up he has TOOO many connections with the drifting scene out there... as in Formula D pro's kinda connections). so in total the money i would spend on the SR20DET and the RB25DET would be about the same as just getting an LS1. No turbo = TONS more reliable and i can push it all i want without worrying about blowing something up. Modding it in the future = 1/2 as cheap as import engines (rule of thumb/guestimating) the only down side is gas mileage. just my ![]() |
