Not really a review: Xikar Executive Lighter
This isn't really a review, more like some comments from my experiences after using this lighter for a few weeks...
Xikar Executive torch lighter (retails approx. $25) With the satisfaction I had with my Xikar cutter, I thought the lighter would be great also. Here's what I think/know about this lighter: I think this lighter is actually manufactured for Xikar by Tiger, as Tiger offers the exact lighter under the model name "Tiger 52"... (Feel free to PM me and I'll tell you where to find the Tiger 52). The Tiger version can be bought for around $10, so if you're like me and want the Xikar name stamped on it - prepare to pay about $15 more. ![]() PS- I haven't verified that these are the exact same two lighters, but they both look exactly the same, and have the same unique trigger mechanism mentioned below. Warranty. Taken from Xikar's website: Quote:
-Very attractive lighter. I have the Silver color, and other colors are available (Blue, Red, Black, and Gunmetal) . Comes in a very nice gift box. -It is well constructed. -It has a unique trigger mechanism - you press in on the side of the lighter, which opens a small orifice at the top to allow the flame to exit. Makes it very easy to point it precisely at the target. Also keeps debris and pocket lint away from the butane jet. -Strong, windproof flame - 'nuff said. -Flame adjustment easily done with the large, grip-textured adjustment wheel at the base of the lighter. CONS: -This gas-hog is worse than a 2002 SUV. Seems I have to refill after lighting only two or three large-gauge smokes. This, in itself, is the most disappointing feature of the lighter. -The lighter is made of metal, but it's a light metal (tin or aluminum), so it doesn't have that "hefty" or "durable" feel to it. -$15 less gets you the same ligher from Tiger. Overall, I'm happy with the lighter's performance, but I have to keep a can of Butane nearby at all times. For someone who wants a nice hot flame at home, this is a good buy, but the Tiger version is an even better buy. ![]()

Re: Not really a review: Xikar Executive Lighter
I forgot to mention that NOW Xikar includes a soft carrying sheath with each lighter. Mine didn't include that in the box, but I'll bet if I wrote them a letter, they'd send me one.
