I was left handed until I went to Catholic elementary school in the late '50's and early '60's. I can still write with my left but the only thing that I normally do with my left is shoot a pistol. Everything else is right handed.

I'm so left handed it sometimes scares people... I mean, I can' even cut paper using scissors with my right hand.... The only 'right handed' thing I do is use a mouse on a computer.

I smoke, eat, drink and write with my left hand. These are all fine motor skills. I do everything else with my right, which tend to be gross motor skills requiring more strength.

All during school, I wrote in my notebooks from the back to the front so that the stupid spiral binding didn't affect my hand. People always questioned it until they saw me write, then it became clear. Of course my school was anti-left so the didn't stock any left-handed bound notebooks. (savages)

I tend to setup my desk and work areas with a left-side view. In my shop, the open working areas of the workbenches are toward my left. In storing items in the toolboxes, the more common tools I use are on the left side of the drawers. I didn't actually realized this till this thread, but thinking more about it, it all seems right to me!

I am proud to be left handed!

Doh! They got to you, tha bastages! Got switched! My mom got pissed when my preschool asked if I was left handed and did she "want" me to be left handed or not. She yanked me outa that place when that happened.

I think from the Catholic perspective it has to do with Biblical references. In the Bible all good things are right and all bad things are left. Sheep on the right, goats on the left, etc.

I'm a lefty and I could use some help with my Sig226. The OEM grip has a little bump on the left side for the right handed shooter to rest his thumb under. It annoys me after a while and I was wondering if anyone knows of a grip that is more neutral or ambi oriented? I wrote to Hogue and they never wrote back.

That's correct. In Italian I believe it's "sinistra."

When I was little, my dad used to take me to their shop in London - about the only thing I ever got bought was scissors and a fountain pen - I still agree most of the other stuff is just silly....
