watching a spy satellite getting shot down is as close as any of us are going to get to seeing an asteroid getting shot down by a missile. this better be taped in HD in a bunch of different angles, preferably somewhere where I can watch, cause then I'll light up a cigar and feel like a true American.

By shooting it down or exploding it at a certain point, could they increase the chance of it landing in water? Or would the explosion cause all the pieces to burn up in the 'sphere

China used an ASAT weapon and shot down a satellite Jan last year.
