Oh you mean the BIRD!

And here I thought you had a perv lurking in the neighborhood.

Sorry, I know I'm supposed to keep it clean.

Excellent photo!
If you're ever in my area from January through March, look me up.
We have areas where they hang out in the hundreds.
Fo Reel.
I went and stared at them this year and as I was leaving realized that my dumb ass shoulda brought the camera. Next year there will be many photos. Promise!

Re: Bald Eagle in my backyard!

That's a great picture, how cool to have a bald eagle in your backyard! The coolest birds in my yard are pileated woodpeckers--but they've been pecking out a nest for the past week, so that was interesting to watch.

Oh, and a few weeks ago we had 2 hawks irritating our pug (they wouldn't leave and he was getting pissed.) I think he would have been eagle bait at your house!

Re: Bald Eagle in my backyard!

I'm fortunate to live along the Missouri River in Central Montana. A Blueribbon stretch absolutely full of Rainbows and German Browns. We see Bald and Golden Eagles throughout the year and Ospreys added to the mix Spring through Fall. So lots of predation from the big birds year long.

Right now the little columbian ground squirrels (gophers) are coming up. They will feed on them like crazy the next several weeks. Until some grass comes up to hide them. The eagles will gorge themselves on carrion or prey to the point that they can't fly. Over gross lift off weight. LOL.

We have had them drop fish in the yard and driveway as well as snakes and gophers. The prey can be too heavy or they just lose it. Funny to be in the house...hear a big THUD on the roof....and find a 2# rainbow laying up there.

The Bald eagles ARE absolutely magnificent to see up close. They have Piercing yellow eyes, that seem to look YOU right in the eye. No denying they are THE predator of the bird world out here.

Re: Bald Eagle in my backyard!

One thing that Jay didn't mention was the fact that this bird was very close, no big zoom when he snapped the picture.

Great picture Jay, you gonna make it to Smoky Joe's Saturday? I got something for ya
