Ted Kennedy's Last words on Katrina
"What the American people have seen is this incredible disparity in which those people who had cars and money got out and those people who were impoverished died."

Re: Ted Kennedy's Last words on Katrina
You know, as much as I disagree with these liberals...I must agree on one point:
"I think with a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court, you can't play, you know, hide the salami, or whatever it's called," -Howard Dean I really think that speaks volumes, not only about the appointment process, but about our daily life in this wonderful free country we call America. May we all learn a lesson from Mr Dean, and hopefully we can put the spirit of this statement into action. God Bless you all, and God Bless America! ![]() |

Re: Ted Kennedy's Last words on Katrina
Some W. quotes:
"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." — 9/13/01 "I want justice...There's an old poster out West, as I recall, that said, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive,'" —9/17/01 "...Secondly, he is not escaping us. This is a guy, who, three months ago, was in control of a county [sic]. Now he's maybe in control of a cave. He's on the run. Listen, a while ago I said to the American people, our objective is more than bin Laden. But one of the things for certain is we're going to get him running and keep him running, and bring him to justice. And that's what's happening. He's on the run, if he's running at all. So we don't know whether he's in cave with the door shut, or a cave with the door open -- we just don't know...."—Crawford TX, 12/28/01 "I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."—3/13/02 "I am truly not that concerned about him."—3/13/02 "I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him."—3/13/02 "Uhh—Gosh, I —don't think I ever said I'm not worried about Osama bin Laden. It's kind of one of those, uhh, exaggerations." — Tempe, AZ, 10/13/2004

Re: Ted Kennedy's Last words on Katrina
Quotes from repugs when Clinton sent troops to Bosnia (without 1 soldier killed in action BTW):
"You can support the troops but not the president." --Rep Tom Delay (R-TX) "Well, I just think it's a bad idea. What's going to happen is they're going to be over there for 10, 15, maybe 20 years." --Joe Scarborough (R-FL) "Explain to the mothers and fathers of American servicemen that may come home in body bags why their son or daughter have to give up their life?" --Sean Hannity, Fox News, 4/6/99 "[The] President . . . is once again releasing American military might on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy. He has yet to tell the Congress how much this operation will cost. And he has not informed our nation's armed forces about how long they will be away from home. These strikes do not make for a sound foreign policy." --Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) "American foreign policy is now one huge big mystery. Simply put, the administration is trying to lead the world with a feel-good foreign policy." --Rep Tom Delay (R-TX) "If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal and an exit strategy." --Karen Hughes, speaking on behalf of George W Bush "I had doubts about the bombing campaign from the beginning . . I didn't think we had done enough in the diplomatic area." --Senator Trent Lott (R-MS) "I cannot support a failed foreign policy. History teaches us that it is often easier to make war than peace. This administration is just learning that lesson right now. The President began this mission with very vague objectives and lots of unanswered questions. A month later, these questions are still unanswered. There are no clarified rules of engagement. There is no timetable. There is no legitimate definition of victory. There is no contingency plan for mission creep. There is no clear funding program. There is no agenda to bolster our over-extended military. There is no explanation defining what vital national interests are at stake. There was no strategic plan for war when the President started this thing, and there still is no plan today" --Rep Tom Delay (R-TX) "Victory means exit strategy, and it's important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is." --Governor George W. Bush (R-TX)

Re: Ted Kennedy's Last words on Katrina
A little something for everyone...the pinko-commie, fruits-and-berries, give-peace-a-chance-or-I'll-kill-you liberals AND the fascist-warmongering, all-for-one-and-all-for-us, lets-go-slaughter-bambi-with-our-machineguns conservatives.
That's strong work. Great thread. (Or is it GRATE....take your pick.) (Grate: 1) To reduce to fragments, shreds, or powder by rubbing against an abrasive surface. 2) To cause to make a harsh grinding or rasping sound through friction: grated her teeth in anger. 3) To irritate or annoy persistently. 4) Archaic. To rub or wear away. For those of you who didn't get the joke.)
