This is what I got from my merchant company today (wells fargo)

I will never bow down to these Anti Smoke Nazi's and high pressure tactics To think they wanted $1000 just to register with them? that is BS. There are too many other companys that would love to have our business. We have already changed companies so it wont affect our business in any way.

I know there are new laws regarding tobacco and mailorder sales but does anybody have the cliff notes version of what's going on. I had a mail order company tell me that they couldn't send a catalog to my state, then later send me a catalog and fill an order. If their confused, I know I am.

The new law is for Cigarettes and snuff which we do not sell in our store.

Mike way to go! Y'know when certain ethnic groups engage in this sort of behavior, they call it "protection money", "extortion" or "racketeering". Nice to see the free market at work!!!

Hey Mike,
You may want to be sure this letter was legit... The fact that it started with Dear merchant and not your name or your business name leads me to believe it may be a scam to get credit card information (just like a spammer)... Just something you might want to look into. Good job none the less.
