I worked as a receptionist in a dental practice, we had a fair few people say that root canals were not nearly as bad as they were rumoured to be. The anaesthetic's that dentists use now are far better than ten or fifteen years ago.

I do recall one woman who feinted in the chair though.

The one I had done a couple years ago was a breeze and painless.
