The Water Is 32.5 Degrees

Power washed the seawall this morning with no problem standing on the ice all went well, Then after picking up the paint not one but 2 of my airless sprayers went down and found a new home in the trash barrel, Went to the old fashion brush and roller because the ice was melting fast 54 degrees out with sun. Got the first 100 feet of wall done standing on a piece of 4 X 8 plywood but the last 20 feet was the killer! Standing on the plywood all the ice area under the plywood started to sinking along with my 278 pounds on top of it. Yes I did get wet and yes I was cold.Sailkat my wife just stood on the top f the seawall laughing her butt off as my butt froze off and yes the water is 32.5 degrees that means it's not ice and not fit for my fat a**.Another one for the books I was the first one in the lake this year and I having a smoke on it.

I think you deserve two smokes after a day like that. 32.5 degrees, I would not go near it.

Re: The Water Is 32.5 Degrees

ouch 32.5 degrees is could enough... my Father In law fell into the water in november trying to cover the boat, was funny at first but I almost had to jump in to pull him out, you dont realize how heavy you are fully clothed with a down jacket fully submerged. Its almost boating season cant wait

Yikes.
I grew up on a lake and could be found soaking wet most any time of the year. I tried my damndest to stay on top of the ice, but it didn't always work out.

I keed... I keeding you!

I've never been in water that cold, but took an unexpected dip into some 45-50 degree water... it's amazing how all of your thoughts turn to one thing, and one thing only...

Are you right on LSC or in one of the canals? Are the canals still low?

The canal that Sailchaser and I live on was made a bit deeper a few years ago. So deep, in fact, that the seawalls started to cave in and had to be replaced!
