I had the exact same experience. I was prepared to wait weeks and received mine in a few days. Apparently this is a very common problem and MS actually extended the warranty from 1 to 3 years or something like that. I was very satisfied with the service, I think from the day I discovered the problem to when I received a new one was maybe 7-10 days.
