3 Flashing Red Lights on the Xbox 360

According to the website, this seems to be a common problem in the stupid box. I guess it's a hardware issue that has to be sent in. Stupid Microsoft.

"The Red Ring of Death" That sucks bro.

If you have to send it back to Microsoft, prepare to wait for atleast a few weeks to get it back. Personally I bought the warranty at Best Buy and when I got the red ring I got a brand new one, no questions asked. It was well worth it.

I was getting that and found it was the cable that was connecting my wireless access point, or whatever it's called, to the 360. Changed the cable and it never happened again.

I tried everything. Yeah, this is a last resort, but the machine is over a year old, so I suppose it was inevitable. I told the boy we will have to wait around 2-3 months...that way, if it comes back early, it will be a surprise! Besides, he can spend all that time keeping watch over my humidor! Win-Win situation!

Re: 3 Flashing Red Lights on the Xbox 360

I have had it twice now and each time the entire process took about 10 days. That includes waiting for the empty box to arrive so you can ship it to their service center in Texas. Make sure if you drop the box off at a UPS store to get a reciept....some people have had items that they have dropped off for shipment suddenly "vanish" and without a receipt you have no proof you dropped off anything.

Good luck bro...actually just got mine back last Thursday for the same thing...

I've had it 8 times on 4 different xboxes (its always on basically), without my 2yr extended warranty at Best Buy i would have been a lot worse...but instead whenever it happens i can take it back and exchange it no questions asked, however it cost me 80$ to buy the warranty but its paid for itself many times over
