Holy Student Loans Batman!

Well so I forgot to consolidate my student loans.....got the first payment today: It's 250.00 dollars, I about fell off the damn chair. So needless to say I went ahead and consolidated and lowered the payment by about...125 bucks or so. But man I wasn't ready for that. So who is still paying on their loans?

My wife's is $250 consolidated (she's a teacher with her masters)... it's like another car payment!

My wife just got accepted the Rutges Nursing BSN program so I'll be shopping for one soon (like this week). I'll only need about 25K total since she already has an AS degree already. Thank God!

I just renewed for another $15K on the fast track to $100K in debt...Can't wait for my payments...

hahaha, I'm green with envy. 2 more years in school, by the time I'm done, if my calculations are correct--$320 thousand! I'm gonna be payin these back for the rest of my life. Looking for 2 words in a contract: Tuition reimbursement

I paid for my college and my fiancee's college in cash. Debt is something I need not more of.

I consider myself lucky...I had a scholarship (21st Century Scholars) which paid for my tuition. I only have 20k in student loans...all of it is housing and other expenses. I couldn't imagine having anything in the 100's

I know a few guys that have loans that are that high. Let's just say it's pretty embarrassing to live with your parents and make 50k or more a year.

I've only got a few thousand left, but my fiance has around 100k. 320k? wow.

I fought hard to avoid student loans, and took two loans out for my final year at DePaul. I paid regularly for the next 2-1/2 years; after my father died and my mother straightened out the finances, one of her first acts was to pay off my loans.

Ironically, I worked most of my way through college at my state's student loan commission offices, first in various grunt positions and then as a skip tracer. Let's just say I saw some real horror stories of debt, financial mismanagement and default along the way. (At the same time, to this day I think I learned more valuable skills working my way through college than I did sitting in any lecture hall!)

I love my parents and all, and lived with them for about 4 months after I graduated, but it was a miserable 4 months lol.

I'm fortunate enough to be able to pay for my wife's and kids' post secondary education on a "cash and carry" basis. I remember when I lamented those accounts being wiped out (only one of them left) until I kept telling myself, "that's their purpose, that's why you have them". Still, it took a couple of yerars of repeating that before I really accepted it.

You guys made me feel much better about my situation. about 60 for me. I had a half tuition academic and partial athletic as well. Very thankful for that. A portion of that includes extra for housing and cost of living. Glad I didn't major in basket weaving.
