I wished this shocked me, but girls are the worst offenders when it comes to fighting. As a teacher I have seen girls rip each others clothes off, hair out, earrings off, blooded each other noses, and black eyes. Some of these young ladies are even trying to go toe to toe with boys and fight like men. This is a growing problem and just like the parent on the news their parents justify their behavior. These young ladies should be punished and we should start setting a stronger example so that maybe we can stop some of this horrible behavior...

Gotta agree with Leslie. My 12th grade daughter has come home with horror stories.

And yes, the movie was "Bully."--a very depressing and hard to watch film about a true story in Cooper City, Florida circa 1993

We see a lot of this sort of thing these days. I know most people attribute it to discipline but I think anger issues are closer to the heart of the matter. Its a high stress world and the kids are sucked into it too, but with parents like the one on the TODAY show is it any surprise the daughter was involved in this. I mean hey, she ran her mouth. i won't watch the video... just like i won't watch (or allow my son to watch) any of the UFC crap on TV (which should not be on regular TV or even advertised on regular TV). there's enough violence in the world as it is to be force-fed it and making it standard acceptable behaviour for kids to see, which it's NOT. that is NOT how people are suppose to treat each other.

that type of violence has no place in society or being glamourized on TV. i had to ask a fairly expensive eatery on Waikiki beach to change the channel from the UFC show they had on (big screen TVs right above a family having dinner that probably cost them a few hundred bucks).

i don't see how ppl (or a group of ppl) can stand by and let someone do to someone else who's defenseless.

It amazes me how some people can forgot how to be nice.. Forgive and forget.. How come we as human's have to live by an eye for an eye, and live by the sword die by the sword..

When I was younger I live liked the above, but as I get older I try to live by and teach my 2 childern that she pen in mighter then the sword. I would be embarassed if that was daugter involded in something like that. She would be lucky not to have to deal with me, and to get to deal with the police..

Mind blowing to me... I just can't understand it..
