crappy month

I have had the month from hell. My wifes transmission is acting up in her car, My water heater went two weeks ago, had to change my garage door opener and went to pull the carpet from my three season porch and the floor was rotted pulled that up and saw the joists and everything is gone due to bugs (termites?) hopefully the sill to the house is okay but I don't know. I am really bummed out. I don't make a ton of money and am on one income with three kids so I have no idea how I am gonna pay for everything. I think I am going to have to give up cable and my beloved cigars. Just had to vent

Re: crappy month

Damn! Sorry to hear it. Take one problem at a time and keep your head and chin up. It will all work out in the wash!

Let me know if there anything I can to do help you out bro!

Re: crappy month

Thanks for the kind words. Just the support from a few gorillas goes a long way.

Money is just so tight right now so I am just trying not to let it effect the rest of the family. The kids and wife are the most important things in my life so as long as I can keep their wants and needs satisfied I will be happy. I am still young so I have time to fix the debt I may incur if the problems are as big as they appear to be (the rot issues with the house)

Re: crappy month

update: I have an exterminator coming tomorrow and construction on the porch will start sat. or sun. I am not sure how I am going to pay for it all but oh well. But yet another expense today my wife was doing laundry today while I was at work and apparently accidentally closed the cord from my drill charger in the washing machine.(it was on the shelf above) When the washing machine hit the spin cycle it pulled the charger down ripped through the washing machine lid and destroyed both the washing machine and the charger. I just can't win lately. At the rate its going I won't have a cigar budget until 2012.

The worst part about it is things are going so bad for me right now when my wife told me about the washing machine all I could do was laugh because it just doesn't seem possible to have all this happen at once.

Look at it this way: you're still alive and breathing. If you can still do that then you can do other things too. See what takes priority then move on from there. I'd say you got the more important ones out of the way with the termites and working on the house. The car and washer might be next, I dunno. Depends on how badly you need them.

Turns out its powderpost beetles and not termites but it will be taken care of in the morning. And as far as everything else I am just going to get it all at once the credit isn't an issue I just am going to have to tighten my budget to pay all the payments, but with the economy I guess tightening the budget is the norm now.
