Hope you can find some place to enjoy the water.

Kinda...I'm selling the boat to fun a camping trailer

Good luck with your situation, broken boats are never fun. Little nerve racking not knowing if you are going to float off or sail away

Re: The woes of having a boat!!

I have some stories like that, i'm glad to hear your motor is running. I've spent a couple of thousand rebuilding and maintaing an old johnson 115 for my bass boat over the last couple of years.

Owning a boat is the most enjoyable and most painful experience sometimes, but when everything clicks, ain't it great?

There are two days that are the hardest when owning a boat. The day you buy it, and the day you sell it. heh heh.

Happiest day of my life: when I bought my boat.

Second happiest day of my life: when I sold my boat.

Re: The woes of having a boat!!

I love to be out on the water. The only thing that helps me get through the winter time. Once I have somewhere to store a boat I am going to buy one. But remember the acronym for BOAT.

Everyone be safe out on the water this summer and enjoy

Re: The woes of having a boat!!

Forget it... I need to take the covers off sometime soon, have it hauled out de-winterize it. Going to sandblast the bottom, repaint. Install new batteries, change the oil, fix some rails, and about 100 other things. I think ill post some progress pic's. Its gonna be a good 2 weeks before we get to do any fisihing but it should be a lot of fun.

Re: The woes of having a boat!!

Brother, I know the feeling. My Dad and Uncle took us fishing all the time when we were kids........I don't ever remember catching more than a handfull of fish. As we got older the fish became more plentiful. Just the other day my dad went fishing came home with only 4 fish, he had a bad day. Don't worry it gets better.

They say "a bad day fishing is better then a good day working."

Well whoever said that has obviously never been fishing.

In all seriousness, my dad has a boat and while boats are really cool and can be a lot of fun, they require a lot of time and money. I'm sure as you keep boating things will get easier for you.

Unfortunatly we have had many days with lousy catches especially striper fishing for us its hit or miss usually. But the times we have definitly are priceless. As of last year im now named the Foul Mouthed Fisherman due to a series of events that unfolded last year on the water

I took the cover off my boat today. It has been covered and stored since July. Would you believe it started right up. That is a first.

I can believe it.

If you put it away in good condition it comes out in perfect condition and makes for an easy beginning of the year.
