Thinking of a short Caribbean vacation.......

We are thinking of taking a short 4-5 day trip to the Caribbean in July, from the 1-5 or 6th.
We want to stay upper Caribbean so the flight doesn't cut too much into the trip. Grand Caymans are out as there are no short flights available. No Jamaica or DR either.

What island and which property would you guys recommend?

We are young 25, like to eat good food, go to bars and clubs, snorkel, swim with dolphins/rays etc, pool and a beach is a must, looking to keep the whole trip around 5K.

Cozumel, Mexico or Belize are both great. They may be to long of a flight, but Cozumel is affordable and might make up the difference.

Those are both 8 hour flights. We are trying to have as much time with our feet on the ground as possible since its only a short trip. I have heard Belize is awesome though!

The Bahamas can be pretty cheap and keep you busy, though I've only been to Bimini on a dive trip. Still, there were a few bars with plenty of character. I'm sure you could find the activities you want in Nassau.

We honeymooned on St Lucia. Beautiful island, and I'm told there's plenty to do, but we stayed close to the resort (Windjammer Landing). The on-site restaurants were good, the beach was nice, the bars were nice, didn't really feel a need to venture out. But again, not exactly the 'nightclub' scene here, at least on the resort.

St Thomas/St John are by far the most beautiful places on Earth that I've ever been to. St John is mostly national park land, smaller towns, little quieter. St Thomas is more of a party town, you may be able to find the nightlife you're looking for here.

I am seriously looking at the Cove at Atlantis on the Island of Nassau Bahamas.
Bit pricey, but this place is truly amazing!

Have you considered a cruise? There are some really afforable 4 day crusies out there and you would only have to fly to Miami or somewhere in Florida. Just a thought.

We were thinking of a cruise, but we want to experience the island. She just took a cruise in the fall. This is our last exotic vacation before we have a baby so we want o enjoy it. Next is Vegas in the fall!
