I'm thinking that once I get around to getting my concealed weapon permit, I may want to rethink the fighter plane mentality.

Speaking of which, a BOTL posted a really cool picture of a 1940's knucklehead that still had the shotgun holster on the front forks from WW2. How cool is that???
I live in Vegas everyone is out to run you over! I am always looking for the other person, but in this case: moving a cars length at a time under 5 mph in "heavy" traffic, all I could do is think the guy was going to get right on my a$$. Bikes to the right and an island to the left, just luck he did not push me into the vehicle in front of me. As far as the concealed weapon permit, I do have mine, but this was not the time or place to carry (a shooting a couple years ago, dont want to make front page news!) Actually it seems like many people are now disgusted with this run (since the shooting) myself included, and are going to boycott it in the year(s) to come. It sounds as if many are just going to go hang out in Lake Havisu (sp) next year.

That's like Daytona for me. It's gotten to the point where a dozen bikes get stolen every year and a half dozen people get run over by cars.

It also takes an hour to move a mile and overheating is common. Forget parking on Main Street.

I stick to "smaller" rallies like Leesburg, which has now grown to 400,000 ppl.

Soon, it will just be the local Bike Night at the bar around the corner for me.

I would like to to Sturgis before I die though.

Glad everyone is OK...that's the major thing! Your story sounds eerily similar to something that happened to my wife in Wichita years ago. The guy hit my wife's car in the rear end while she was sitting at a stop light. His truck died and he was sitting there trying to get it started when the guy behind him ran up and pulled the keys out of the ignition. However, again, I'm glad everyone is OK!

Sounds like you've got a very good bike. I'm not sure my Yamaha V-Star 1100 Classic would take that kind of hit.
