1. make sure the dummy is complete, not a bust, or missing limbs

Anyone else out there a handicapped space self-appointed cop?? I call in on the bastards all the time, I have all four of the PD's in our area on speed dial on my cell phone, and have gotten dozens of a-holes ticketed.

man, that is a lot of agression there. Not that i cheat in the carpool lane but it seems kind of harsh to call the cops on that infraction... I'm more worried about gangs, drugs and other forms of lawlessness in my part of town.

Yeah, Ive been busy watching my truck at night. So far Im the only truck on the block that hasn't been broken into.

Besides, Ive seen 3 people who were actually handicapped parked in the handicapped spots. The rest were just fat.

Back in the Army when I was an MP the only thing I went way out of my way for to write a ticket was the idiots in the handicap spots. I busted the same Pizza delivery guy 5 nights in a row using the spots. Granted there were not that many that need them in barracks but it is a pet peeve of mine. He figured that since he was in his mothers car and had the plates he could beat the tickets. Several grand later and loss of license for 6 months fixed that attitude.

I've personally had three people CONVICTED for DUI's and had plenty of others pulled over and written for it. I absolutely love to get drunks off the road. My favorite one was where the HP told me to place the person under citizens arrest!

I'm sorry that people have screwed up lives to the point that they medicate it with booze but if they go out for a drive while medicated AND I see em... then I'll call it in.

I've called in a DUI as well. I had the driver cornered in until the police showed up. The fool almost ran me off the road prior to me callin 911. the cops told me that he was a frequent customer with no DL (and i think he was sent to the big house for a bit of solitary contemplation).

Also, i got to retract something i said to cigar no baka. I misread his post, i thought he called to cops on carpool cheaters (which i think is bad but not enough to work myself up over), but what he wrote was people who took handicap spaces who wasn't handicapped. I have to agree with him on that, i have no symphaty for a lazy ass who takes a handicap parking space when they aren't handicapped.

If I saw that kind of thing, I would call it in, but nothing yet. I live in a rather peaceful suburb. I have also called the cops on some piece of shit who was wailing on his girlfriend in a gas station parking lot.

You might go easy on some of the handicap "cheaters". I have a handicap tag for my mirror. Sometimes I have forgotten to hang it up. If someone called in that I was not "supposed" to park there I would be pissed.

Everyone of us has forgotten something at one time or another.

I have had A-holes scream at me and try to get in my face when I am trying to back out of a handicapped parking space because I had already put my tag up on my sunvisor. Gimmee a minute, dumbass!!! It is illegal to drive with your handicap tag hanging from your mirror in Missouri.

I have had a-holes challenge me that the tag is mine because I am so "young". I guess they know more than my doctors and myself. In their book a bad back, two bad kness, and nerve damage to control my right foot and a leg brace are not enough of a handicap.

In the last 2 years that I have had it I have had more parking lot confrontations than in the rest of my entire driving career. The same people that get in your face in the parking lots never have the balls to back up their mouths when I confront them. They just walk off. Not a one of the self appointed parking lot police have said they are sorry. Most won't say a word when I get 6'5" 280lb self out of my car. That is the least they could do.

I have had a-holes tell me that only people in wheel chairs should have them. Hmmm, I guess my 82 yr old grandmother with cancer that could still walk didn't need one when my 83 yr old grandfather drove for her to the hospital for her chemo treatments.

Well, I always check to see if they left the tag on their dash, and if I don't see it, I call the cops. If you have a legitimate tag, I'm sure the ticket will be waived. I've been thanked by most people I tell about this who have handicapped stickers because they are FAR more tired than I of handicap cheaters. And I have relatives who are legitimately handicapped, and they have told me repeatedly of seeing young, ignorant, rudeass people parking in the handicapped spots taking them out, grinning like chimpanzees the whole time. So I'm not apologetic about what I do and I'm gonna continue to do it.

i hear that about a$$holes parking in handicapped spots...

i have a really good friend in a wheelchair, and before i met him i really hadn't put much thought into how hard it is to get in/out of a car..

it's not so much the closeness to the front of the shop for him, it's that the hadicapped spaces have more room around the car to maneuver.

he doesn't have a lot of money, so he has a regular car with special controls added so he can drive. he doesn't have one of those fancy lifts.

think about it..how easy would it be for you to stop, open your door, reach into the back seat and try to get the chair in place on the ground, pull yourself out of the car and into the chair and vice versa, when usually there is little space between the cars..

the handicapped spots make his life a LOT easier, and it DOES piss me off to see people parking there w/o handicapped signs in their car.

i've never thought to call the police, but i just might now that i know other peopl are doing it...
