How many of us actually golf??

I golf maybe 3-4 times a year and look forward to it with great anticipation. Unfortunatley, on my budget that is the most I can afford to play (that is unless I quit smoking cigars...which pretty much makes golfing pointless to me)

I'm definately a golf NUT(I have a putting green in my basement), but have to admit that I wasn't able to play at all this year. The back problems would not allow it, but I'm looking forward to spring '06. Jerry(dadof3illinois) and I are supposed to get together so he can embarass me

Maybe an Illinois/Indiana Golf Herf in the spring? Of course that would be a long drive (no pun intended) for the Chicago area BOTLs like me.

Golf and Cigars - definitely - I play as much as I can and I always have at least one cigar during the round.

I just have come to terms that I will always suck so I don't get pissed anymore on the bad shots.

Used to a lot when I was good back in high school, at least a few times a week.... when I started stinking I stopped due to fear I would blow a valve

I come from a family of Pros.... even my Mom was a champ in school... I guess it is like lots of other things....

It skips a generation

I really have been tempted to go hit the range lately... since I have been mellowing with age (a little) I'm thinking maybe I can stand being so bad and then make a little progress.

I was an avid golfer. Worked part time on a golf course for a while and played on average of 4 rounds a week not including practicing everyday. Got pretty good and wa shooting in the mid 70's low 80's and then I hurt my back and i've only played 1 round this whole season.. Im sad and cant wait to get better to see how bad I suck now.

I've golfed a total of one (1) time.. but I had a helluva time.. I'd do it again, if I could find a golf course within walking distance, that had decent greens fees. I'm from Naples, FL originally where greens fees on one of our courses can get as high as $400ish in the OFF SEASON... of course, it's Tiburon, where they give you GPS on each cart that tracks distance to the pin, then at the 9th hole, you get a menu, you order, and they bring it to you when it's ready... pretty sweet.. but a little rich for my blood...

I played Golf Very Often about ten years ago,got down to a mean seven handicap,until a car accident ended my Golf career.I only smoked a Cigar when I could enjoy it,after a round.

I used to play in highschool. I might have been the worst player on the team, but I really enjoyed playing. I then proceeded to blow out my shoulder and my clubs got stolen... basically I didn't hit a ball or the links for several years. But last week I started to hit some balls again (with only club I could find in my house, a '68 Spalding Executive 9 Iron). My shoulder is doing well enough since my surgery that I can hit a full bucket, and I've been having alot of fun (besides destroying my wrist from hitting the practice matt fat inbetween hitting 'em thin). I actually went on eBay and got myself a full set of irons last week (some used ping eye2's). I'm excited, I'll be back on the links in no time, maybe I'll be able to break 150.

Play nine a week in a league during the summer months just to keep in the game. Also try to get 18 in every week or two. Score has been coming down slowly since I've been doing this the last couple of years.

Of course, I play "customer golf". That is, the customer always wins

As for the cigars, it's usually the only time I can find the time to smoke a big one!

i enjoy the game--but as a golfer, i'm a pretty good horticulturalist.

but it is a great reason to have a stick.
