How many of us actually golf??

Golf takes way too long, 3-4 hours or so, right? - if you walk. I believe if you walk the course it's good exercise, beyond that, who has enough time?

Naw, I say everyone has enough time. If you don't, rearrange life. I mean come on, it's a chance to get out and walk around in a manicured outdoors setting. No way that can be bad for you. Hitting the ball consistently well take mental discipline and lots of it. It's a hard game. I can see why people dump on it. You have to put up with being humbled and nobody typically willingly engages in self humiliation .

Played today on a genuinely hard course. The greens were new, some tif hybrid bermuda, spongy but so firm the ball would not leave a divot. These greens are some heat resistant bermuda and they putted perfectly. The course has been redone with a few greens tiered so that when your approach lands, the ball will roll back down towards the hole if you overshoot it, by gravity rather than spin (since the greens don't hold that well). It's a nice game especially if you like cigars.

to me, golf is an excuse to ...

1- get away from the woman
2- smoke 2-3 cigars
3- drink a 12 pack of beer
4- hang out with the boys
5- get outside..

nothing else!

oh ok i get it so, get outside smoke some sticks, drink some beer and occasionaly look up and curse the game your in the middle of
