Greetings from Qatar

Hello fellow BOTLs... i have found the computer terminals here in Qatar... that and the availability of beer just might be a dangerous combination for my reputation here on CS, but i promised reviews and updates, so here we go!

Well today is Thanksgiving... as mosty of you all know, and it is also my official first day on pass. It is wierd how much is taken for granted back in the states!! Civilian clothes, beer, leasure time... i had forgotten what all that was about. Well i have just finished my third and final beer tonight (our limmit) and i appologize for and incoherant rantings and miss-spellings that occur do to that (i know, pathetic that i can feel 3, but it has been over 5 months...).

Well my buddy, LT Stump, and i have been awaiting our first beer. We got here too late last night to get one, and they dont open the "bar" here until after 1800 (6pm), so we had quite the wait. We woke up this morning and walked around, got a great breakfast at the DFAC (Dinning Facility) here and then went to sign up for a dune buggy trip over the sands to the beach tomorrow. After this came the most wonderful meal of my life. They have a Chili's here and i think my mouth experianced an orgasm (for those of you that dont believe that it is possible, eat wood for 5 months then go to chili's, it'll happen) great times. We then took a small nap and before we knew it it was drinkin' time!

As you might expect, it was quite a selection proccess to find the perfect cigar for the first beer in 5 months, so a lot of thought went into it. I had several new selections that i have yet to try that i know would have been FANTASTIC, however i did not want to ruin the occasion with a chance bad cigar, so i went with something i knew. This left a Carlos Torano 1916, and an H. Uppman cameroon. Well i desided on the H. Upmann based on a previous experience with it. Great choice. (un)fortunatly the cigar ended up being overpowered by the Budwiser, but im pretty sure that i posted a review on here earlier, so if you want to know what i thought of it, look it up.. great smoke about sums it all up!! Well i ended up kicking my buddies @ss around the pool table for a little while and played another player a few times once my buddy decided it was an excersise in frutility to play me. I finished my third beer (the limit here) and here i am. well that we my day! Im looking forward to cruising over the sands to the beach and having a BBQ and swimming.

Hope all is well on the homefront, take care!
