Took the Wife shooting :)

My wife has been deathly afraid of guns since she was young. She was baby sitting for her uncle when he came home and got into it with his wife and started waving a pistol in her face and held it to her head. I was surprised that she even let me buy them in the first place. After years of me trying she is finally coming out of her shell and she actually likes it! First she shot the P22, then last time the XD 40, and now she asked to shoot the AK! HOT!

Her with My AK, she is still a little scared of holding it

here is the SKS, she liked it more as the AK pounds the piss out of your shoulder.

And Me enjoying 30 rounds of stress relief....

Re: Took the Wife shooting :)

Thanks, I refinished the SKS stock with a good sanding and get this.... a bath in the dishwasher. Yeah when I heard a guy say this I was like yeah right. He said it'll get rid of 99% of the cosmoline and take alot of the dents and dings out, steam and water. and it actually worked. Sanded her a little and a couple good rub downs with tung oil Wish I had the room to reload

Nope just a Wasr, I put KVAR poly furniture on it, polished the bolt carrier and Threaded the muzzle for a slant brake. I got a really good one, no trigger slap and no canted site.

Re: Took the Wife shooting :)

I took my wife shooting at the gun club and bought her a over under golden snipe berata to shoot. Then the guy's at the club asked me what the hell was I doing, "she's your wife and you bought her a gun" and my wife responded to them "Yes that's right and if he misbehaves I got two chances to hit him and he doesn't run that fast"
On the postive side I shoot a winter league and my wife is at every shoot and it is a graet way to spend the day together
Thanks for sharing your day with us

Re: Took the Wife shooting :)

You are very lucky. I have tried to make shooting a hobby my wife and I can do together. She can make everything work, but really has no interest to go to the range.

Re: Took the Wife shooting :)

Nice pics, hopefully you'll be able to keep the wife shooting with you. My wife will go to the range with me every now and then, she just doesn't have that much interest in shooting stuff up.
Nice AK you've got there also, they are fun to shoot. I have a Polish underfolder, fun times shooting that!

Re: Took the Wife shooting :)

Yeah I love my AK, want an underfolder too. I really miss my baby though, chick hit me and didn't have insurance, had somebody that had inquired about my AR and I had to sell it to fix (Deductible)the car I built it by myself which made it worse Its a Rock River Lower, Magpul/MI/YHM parts and a Stag upper, with EOTech 552. But here is the Whole family minus the P22 and the Mosin. I sure do miss my tack driver.

Re: Took the Wife shooting :)

That is awesome, I think everyone should learn how to shoot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmemXVvbdPw

this is what happened last time I took my mom out to go shooting. That is a nice looking ar that you have, how do you like the eotech? I was unsure to get a EoTech or aimpoint. The only reason I went with the aimpoint is because of the battery life.

Nice collection you have there, bummer about the AR though.

This is my underfolder, Polish rifle built on an Ohio Ordnance receiver, slant brake, chrome lined barrel and high cap mag of course. Fun to shoot for sure....
