But I have to ask Chas, maybe you would like some remedial training around items of flammable nature???

PS... I am a firemanand I have burned many things, intentional and unintentional
I agree on the MD but not really sure what to be looking for. Some have mentioned "green". The center of the main area is turning a darker color but it does not look green to me. Its more of a brown/bruise but if you look at it in a different light or angle it might look green. I don't want to sound like a cheap a$$ but I have been told the only thing they can do is basically what I am already doing, so why waste the money. I have decent insurance but its linked to a high deductible/health savings account. I have no problem going if needed but just not sure what I should be looking for. I was also told by a friend I should start soaking it in a mild "Dreft" soap solution.

Any suggestions being you are in the "business" so to speak

Chas

Does the skin look infected?
Yes. The burn may be infected it continues to ooze, smells, is not healing, or has red streaks radiating away from the burn injury. See a physician immediately. More Information
No. The burn is probably not infected and should heal with proper care. Always monitor the skin for signs of infection.

Superficial - Second degree burns usually heal in less than 3 weeks depending on severity. The deeper or thicker
the burned skin the longer the injury make take to heal

Do you feel sick? (nauseous, headache, weak, fever, ache, stiff neck, short of breath, body ache)
Yes. See a physician immediately. More Information
No. It may be a second or third degree burn requiring immediate medical attention. If in doubt See a physician immediately.

When the wife "made" me click on the link last night, she said, "He needs to see a doctor because it's turning green." I really didn't see it, but I've discovered that little good comes from arguing with her. Now I read that maybe it might look like that in a different light or angle.

Dude ... humor us ... go see a doctor ... or I'm sending my wife over there to run your life too.

Re: Grilling gone bad !

Looks like you're doing all the right things for the burn, besides the doctor. They would tell you pretty much what you've been doing is the correct path, so save your $ right now. Keep a steady eye on it though. The first sign of infection, hit the door running. And like your Grandma said, "Don't pick at the scabs!"

Best of luck, Chas!

Re: Grilling gone bad !

Had a waitress spill an entire fresh pot of coffee on my thigh when I was a kid. I had the scar for years, but it did eventually lighten up and go away. Keep looking after it like everyone has said, and don't be a hero Bro. Burns suck like nothing else.

Re: Grilling gone bad !

Are you using Neosporin? And not using alcohol or hydrogen peroxide? Clear fluids around the wound - good, not clear - bad.
