Greatest Album/Cassette sides ever

This will leave a fair portion of the audience perhaps scratching their heads to think that music was at one time distributed in analog form on thin magnetic tape or on vinyl platters. Let the old folks have our fun.

Anyway, I was uploading some favorite 80s music earlier to a school alumni web site and realized I had pretty much uploaded the entire Side B to Cheap Trick - Live at Budokan. That was one very sweet side of a tape, and I'd have to put it at or near the top of the greatest ever album/cassette sides.

Anybody else have any favorite album sides that compare?

Re: Greatest Album/Cassette sides ever

Hmmm way to many to go for best - but:

Dark Side of the Moon
The Wall
The White Album
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust
Roumors
Eat a Peach

Bands not mentioned as if I have to, then as noted above this isn't your thread

To bend the rules:
One of the most outstanding "albums" I have ever listened to is the - A Night at Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra (1993) by the Moody Blues. It is an incredible recording at a special place. I highly recommend!

Side 2, "Power Packed Trombones" on Columbia, circa '55.

It's the "East Coast" side comprised of (then) contemporary classics performed by 8-12 of the best East coast trombonists of the era, accompanied by only an upright bass and trapset, plus piano on one tune. The West coast side ain't bad, either, but it's nowhere close as sizzling as the East coast side. Wore the grooves out listening to that side growing up and had to source another copy at no small expense a few years ago (took it straight to digital).

Re: Greatest Album/Cassette sides ever

Now that I have most of my favorite albums from the 70s on CD, it amazes me that there were songs on the other side. We use to stack the records play just one side of an album and then on to the next one.

Led Zepellin I
James Gang Rides Again
Jimi Hendrix Are You Experienced and Electric Ladyland
The Doors - A friend mine still jams on the piano with Whiskey Bar
Cream Disraeli Gears
Moody Blues In Search of the Lost Chord

Sides B of Dark Side of The Moon and Sgt. Pepper have to be up there, you're right.

Not really a side, but the Beatles White Album, second album (i guess you could say sides C and D. And pretty much any side of a White Stripes release.

I would never say that Exile on Main Street is an underrated album, its one of the greates albums ever made and critics would agree.

I just finished reading Robert Greenfield's, Exile on Main St. A Season In Hell With the Rolling Stones. Its a quick and easy read and gave some wonderful insight on the lows and the many many highs of the Rolling Stones.
