holy hell i gotta get back in shape

Ok so i was out with some friends, shirt off, enjoying the day out on the boat feeling good. That is until the pictures came out today. I am freaking out of shape so im gonna do something about it and yall are going to help.

The only way I think ill stick with it is to have to report to someone everyday about my progress.

So heres my plan.

Aerobic First, I embarresed my self, ex nationally ranked swimmer who cant get up a flight of steps with out being out of breath? um right. that needs to stop. So im going to start biking forty miles a day at least to start. up it from there. also half hour of rowing and 2000 yards swimming every other day. I figure aerobicly this will get me in shape in burn the intial body fat that needs to go.

Lifting-this is an area ill probably need the most help, ive never been a huge lifter but ive got the right stuff to do it now, a buddy of mine moved to california and left me a brand new one of these:http://www.amazon.com/Powertec-WB-LS...18933&sr=1-482 so ill be able do most anything here at home that i want to do. but im planning on doing this 4 days a week.

Im not looking to build bulk but get back to my lean mean swimming weight(and yes you can be mean in a speedo so back off)
but im hoping that in 60 days i can lose 15-20 pounds of fat, the amount ive gained and get my muscle tone back. its likely i wont lose weight as muscle weighs more but i seriously need to get back in shape this is rediculous!!

So heres where yall come in. since none of my friends are real fitness minded Im going to use you guys as the motivation to keep going and to have you all yell at me when i start slacking. m thinking there should be some sort of penelty if i dont reach my goal of back in shape in 60 days, or at the very least significantly better shape. Ill report my work out every day, for the first 3 weeks it will be largely aerobic with one or two days of lifting, after that ill be adding a day of lifting every week. so Ill report in everyday and im hoping to keep it goin!

Wish me luck! I start tomarrow

Brad

Good luck! But from a former cyclist who looked into the mirror as well, dunno if the aggresive plan is the best going forward. Maybe instead of jumping into a 40 mile ride, something a bit smaller? I'd hate to lose someone after the first day of ouch!

Seeing photos was how it happened to me too............. I'm on a treadmill almost every day now but it comes off harder than it went on. We didn't get fat overnight so I guess we shouldn't expect to reverse the process fast either.

I lost 50 lbs last year while I was in Korea. I started eating right, drinking lots of water, lifting, running, and I took hydroxycut hardcore. If I can do it so can you. Just stick with it and don't give up. Best of luck to ya, brother.

well im only 22. but i did a 30 mile ride, averaging 22mph(lots of flat level ground) and didnt feel that tired so i dont know, seemed like a decent plan but we will see, i may start with less and roll into it in the first week

Good luck darb. Sounds like a crazy hard routine to keep up, and I'd recommend against going so gung-ho straight from the start, but I think if you can do it then you'll definitely see quick results.

Let us know!

SUGGESTION:

Sign up to http://www.bodybuilding.com
They have a section called Bodyspace, where you can post progress pictures, goals, track your progress in nice charts.
I'm on there as well under the same username.

Take before pictures and then progress pictures and you may even get to be featured on their transformation of the week winner.
You can win free supplements, etc.

Besides, it makes it fun to get in shape!

Re: holy hell i gotta get back in shape

Hey man, I'm in the same boat. I just got sick and tired of being sick and tired. A friend of mine got me in to crossfit about four weeks ago and I can already feel a difference. I'm sore, but I feel good ya know? Crossfit is super intense, so if you can handle it, go ahead with your intense plan of aerobics and lifting. If you've got the will power to work throught the pain you can do it.

Re: holy hell i gotta get back in shape

Good luck with the weight loss. I have dropped 40lbs so far in about 3 months, form 260 to 220 Like you it took pictures, that plus my doctor saying, "boy you sure do enjoy the food huh" After going home and crying into some BBQ i cooked up that weekend, i decided it was time to change, like others said, i cut out the soda and went towater and started walking on my lunch break. It made a huge difference for me.

Re: holy hell i gotta get back in shape

Darb,

ease into your work out with the plane to do just a little mnorer than you did the day before. . . when starting back (regardless of age) small daily victories will keep you encouraged vs ambitious goals based on what you USED to do.

I'm a former college athelete and need to remind myself that I have to work back to the old form. . .

I only offer this as a way to saty motivated and ecouraged - because I've been there.

Good luck brother!
