Apple is fine if you like it they way they want you to have it. If you like to be an individual and customize you experience/machine go MS for newbs and LINUX for a real trip!!

I have to give it to Apple though. They sure know how to make people think they need a device that cannot truly be theirs. Plus they figured out a way to charge you for an OS you can get for free.

Kidding aside, our forensics workstations are dual quad-core Mac Pros, albeit we run 'doze on them. NO ONE can touch Mac when it comes to bang-for-the-buck enterprise systems.
