Iowa Storms

We had some really nice storms today in Iowa. We were lucky and had no damage at our house (I was kinda hoping it would rip my shingles off) but friends of ours lost their wood fence and their satellite dish. They are also without power.

Anyone else in Iowa have any major damage?

Laugh, I love storms. Now the damage part isn't so nice. But they are really fun to watch!

I wish I too could say that the damaging storms in the midwest these last couple of days were cool...but I lost a car to a tree...funny thing...I am in Las Vegas at home, and this was my car for when I stay with my parents...picture that episode of "Home Improvement" where they drop the steel beam in the 1955 Nomad...instead...the Nomad is a 2004 BMW 325xi Sedan...and the steel beam is an 80yr tree...SMASH...and that it happened in Wisconsin....

Re: Iowa Storms

In Mitchellville there is a TON of damage. Just got the power back about a half hour ago...it was out since about 4:30 yesterday evening. No major damage to the house although cleanup will really suck. There are at least 2 dozen trees down or just split in half and at least three or four that fell directly on houses.

you don't realize how much you miss electricity until its gone...gonna be looking at back up generators this weekend since power outages are becoming a lot more frequent as of late in Mitchellville.
