Then you might be eligible for something under this class action lawsuit. From an article on the website of the local news station:
A class action lawsuit claims TransUnion violated the privacy of millions of consumers with credit cards and loans by selling their personal and financial information for marketing purposes. TransUnion denies the accusation but has agreed to settle out of court. You are eligible to be part of the settlement if you had any kind of credit card or any kind of loan, even student loans, between Jan. 1, 1987 and May 28, 2008. Register to get settlement in a minimum of two years after the final ruling....with the legal system that will take a decade....

I was part of a class action lawsuit that was filed about 8 or 9 years ago. I filled out all the papers, doted all the I's crossed all the T's and jumped thought all the hoops. It was against a bank that improperly computed interest on home loans. Over the life of the loan the lawyers had it figured that I paid a few thousand dollars extra in interest. When all was said and done and everyone got their share of the pie my check came in the mail.
I was so excited and as I opened the envelope I had visions of a new computer, a large TV or a nice vacation. The check was for 44 cents For the longest time I kept the check on the refrigerator just as a joke. I have no idea what ever happened to the check but I am sure the lawyers cashed theirs. Chas |

Not in it for the money as much as I am for the info release that bothers me.
