Very nice truck. I have a 06 Quad Cab 1500 and love it. Once I got it I put on window vents, tonneau cover, nerf bars, bigger tires and a tow package so I could pull my ATV. They are a good truck.

The Tacoma has been a pretty good truck but the seats aren't nearly as comfortable as the Dodge six way adjustable seats. In my job in the methane gas exploration industry, we work a lot of 24 hour wells and need to grab sleep when we're not needed. The Tacoma seats don't work too well with my 200 lb. 6' 3" frame. The Dodge was like sleeping on my "Select Comfort" by comparrison.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing that you did---try to buy a gas burner Dodge at an attractive price. I could haul more gear and pull the diesel generator on a trailer with the Dodge, something I will not do with the Tacoma.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your Dodge as much as I did mine.

That was a beautiful truck you had there, I checked out the Taco's myself and the value has barely hiccuped on them so that wasn't an option. I had originally set out for a diesel ram too but paying $30k for a used truck bit me a little funny.

I've been out cruising in this thing since I picked it up yesterday burning through that tank of free gas from the dealer but suprisingly haven't put a dent in it, I only used a 1/4 tank getting around 18mpg average mostly highway.

The comfort was the big seller for me, once I hopped up into the cab I sank into the plushest seats I've ever seen in a truck and this thing eats the potholes like nothing.

Just back in March I bought this 2008 F-150 Super Crew for 11,000 off MSRP, cost me 22,000 for a 33K truck, thing is I have the bike for fuel mileage, work/store etc and can afford gas for the weekend occasions..

I also need to update the pictures, got all kinds of new chrome goodies on it now..

Well, I am shrinking. I used to be 6' 3 1/2". I also used to weigh 230#. I'm down to around 192 lbs. now so it looks like I'm on my way out!

I forgot to say that I like the color of your truck.

My wife and I both loved the comfort of the Laramie seats. I don't care about the leather but needed electric seats on both sides. My wife is just over 5' and needs to be able to adjust the seat bottom angle so her feet hit the floor. I loved all the storage in the Dodge and the fold down rear seats. We like the dual temperature controls quite a bit too and the seat warmers.

What engine does your gas burner have and what year is it? Keep us poste on your mileage as time goes by. I've heard mileage figures all over the place on the Dodge "Hemi" engines.

The one thing I didn't like on my 2003 Dodge was the very crappy headlights. I had to put after market lights in the bumber to be able to see any distance. Hopefully, these have improved.

Thanks I love the color too, it was the only one I saw in that shade of blue. The under seat storage in the backseat was a big selling point for me with a pickup, I carry a ton of maps and tools with me so everything is tucked away out of sight and most importantly not sitting in the bed where it can get wet/stolen. The headlights work pretty good, I have the fog lights in there too so when I light everything up its not too bad.

I have the 4.7L "Magnum" v8, after test driving a few hemi's I found out I didn't need that much power as I don't plan on pulling any 55' trailers and this things plenty fast to get dangerous. The 4.7L gets decent gas mileage as I'm not as tempted to "open it up" every time I leave a stoplight, the hemi had me feeling like I was in a charger and wanted to race with the rumbling behind me. It's a 2004.

Engine noise with the windows up is non-existent which is great too, my wife would be complaining if the thing was roaring constantly giving her a headache.

According to my trip computer (if you trust that at all) I'm getting about 17-18mpg when its mostly highway and about 14mpg city. I reset the computer if I know I'm going to just be driving around town to see the difference since it averages it out. On the highway I tend to cruise near the speed limit at 55-65 and only let it rip a little to pass slower moving vehicles. In town I live in a valley so there's a ton of hills to have to power up, I'd be curious to see how the mileage would fair on more level ground.

Oh I forgot to add if you are in the market for a newer one I think starting in 2006 the Hemi has cylinder deactivation so you drop down to 4 cylinders until you need all 8, something to consider to save fuel in a gasser.

That's a sweet truck brother definitely throw some pictures up with the chrome when you get a chance. Nice bike too, good to have the option to get 70mpg over 15mpg.

The truck chrome slope is pretty dangerous I've already been shopping online...

Re: There goes the cigar budget

Thanks bro, but I wished that bike got 70mpg, maybe 30/35 is a 1800cc beast that sucks the gas to but not like the ford..

I was looking at new Dodges before the ford but the dodge dealer would not budge off MSRP, my father has a ram quad cap and I love it, but it just wasn't ment to be for me..

Now is the time for a full size if you can afford the gas, for sure...

Beast for sure 1800cc jesus, my little kawasaki LTD would run off a fillup forever, should've kept that thing but after a few close calls I gave it up. Too many idiots in pickup trucks out there now.
