There goes the cigar budget

04 Ram 1500 Quad Cab, the Honda dealer couldn't wait to get it off his lot with the high gas prices so I walked with a pretty good deal.

Heres a little pr0n. I'm going to need recommendations for cheap smokes now.

Nice truck! 5 Vegas Gold's a good $3 stick. Enjoy, brother!

That is gorgeous!
I've been looking into getting another 4x4 since my goat is just worthless in the winter time.

Last 4x4 I had was a 5.9 Jeep that I still kick myself in the ass for selling.
You'll never be late for work or an appointment that's for sure!

Have fun with her!

Nice bad ride

Seems to be a common theme, my brother-in-law scooped a Chevy Avalanche from a Kia dealer. Got a great deal, but the dealer admitted they sat on it for awhile.

Definitely, the gas sipper dealers are getting screwed big time right now because no one goes to a Honda/Kia dealer looking for a v8 truck. This one sat on their lot for about 3 months and no one showed any interest in it at all until I called.

Funny thing is the gas prices have been slowly dropping, personally I don't care since my commute is very short and I have a 6cyl car I can tool around in if I have to take a far drive. Nows the time to buy the trucks gentlemen.

Oh and I forgot the interior picture.

I was talking to an acquaintance who happens to own 8 dealerships, everything from domestics to he end imports and he told me he's buying up every 4x4 and Hummer he can get. Eventually people will get over this gas thing and go back to buying their big cars again.

I'm not sure I see that happening since the manufactures are pulling alot of their bigger lines and then laying off the employees. I think the move to smaller vehicles isn't just a fad.

The new 1.2 billion dollar Toyota plant being constructed in North Mississippi was going to produce Highlanders but in the last month they have decided that they will produce the Prius. Not just a fad. Gas will never go below $2 again and probably won't see it below $3. Americans are going to be driving smaller cars.

Re: There goes the cigar budget

I work with a lot of contractors and they need the bigger trucks to haul trailers so I guess there will always be people buying them. I saved $8k on this one so the gas crunch worked out for me.

Re: There goes the cigar budget

I loved my 2003 Dodge diesel Laramie. What a truck! But, constant shifting of the six speed on the really back roads of Wyoming put the hurt on my right shoulder. That and the fact that diesel prices in this area started going nuts promted me to sell the Dodge and buy a 2006 Tacoma (with an automatic transmission).

The Tacoma has been a pretty good truck but the seats aren't nearly as comfortable as the Dodge six way adjustable seats. In my job in the methane gas exploration industry, we work a lot of 24 hour wells and need to grab sleep when we're not needed. The Tacoma seats don't work too well with my 200 lb. 6' 3" frame. The Dodge was like sleeping on my "Select Comfort" by comparrison.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing that you did---try to buy a gas burner Dodge at an attractive price. I could haul more gear and pull the diesel generator on a trailer with the Dodge, something I will not do with the Tacoma.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your Dodge as much as I did mine.
