help wanted, need a logo & phpbb3 shell

I run a Dutch cigar forum www.sigarenliefhebber.nl with my buddy & fellow gorilla SmokeyNL, we took over the website a few months ago and we definately need to upgrade as the website design isn't very nice in our opinion. We want a new logo, we will upgrade the php board to 3.0 and we need a nice custom cigar related shell for that. Neither of us is a graphic designer or a phpbb wizzkid, but maybe there are some gorilla's out here that are willing to help us out.

SOOoo..I am NOT a graphic designer and I have no clue what phpbb3 is BUT I am an artist - one who has done logo work for other cigar businesses including shops, websites, internet forums, etc. My gig is old school. I work with paints, pens and brushes when I do my logowork...no computer stuff as I am ignorant in that arena. The advantages of the "old school" approach to the logo? Well...I digitally photograph the final design in hi res and email it to you so you have an electronic file to do with as you please. In addition to that, I send you the original so you have a hand painted piece of original artwork - so the ability to meet the needs plus a bonus for a very reasonable price. If you have reservations about the old school approach, I would be happy to provide you with references. Good luck and have a great weekend!!

I love creating logos (and I can't draw for shit, so it's all on the computer with me )... I used to own a clothing company, and I design all my fiancees logos for her business. I'd enjoy trying to come up with something.

First off though, what does that giant word translate into? Knowing that will be crucial.

I won't be much help with the PHP3. I use it for a local Rochester Guitar Club forum I run and can get around in it just fine, but I've only been using it for a short period of time and never bothered with many customizations.

Thanx for the offer, the old school work seems interesting but also way too much work for a simple non commercial website. I'll keep this in mind though.

I have worked skinning and extending phpBB since it's inception until recently. I have no experience in skinning 3x but please feel free to contact me if you get in a jam. I keep pretty busy but always seem to find time for this sort of thing when it comes down to it

As far as the logo, would the words be separated, if so, where would the separation occur (sigaren / liefhebber, I assume)? Is there any particular shape you are looking for or need to stay within?
