Re: In your opinion anything better the Ipod

So other than the zune pass-which is borrowed music if I read right, the zune doesn't have anything the ipod doesn't and with the ipod you get exceptional customer support and ipods look cool

I was a pc person for 10 years and then I got an ipod-then I got another ipod-then I got a PowerBook-then I got an iMac...then another ipod...and so it goes. I would have an iphone, but we use verizon

I would have Steve Jobs love child...but my clock stopped ticking.....

I like my Sandisk because it has a FM tuner for my Red Sox / Patriots games... I think the Zune has one as well.

Re: In your opinion anything better the Ipod

I vote for the iPod as well. I have had many over the years and loved them all. I've had some cheaper MP3 players for my kids and always had problems with them. With others comparable in price to the iPods, it's more about features. iPod's seem to be the simplest. At this point, I buy new music about twice a year so I rarely need to mess with it. Apple service can be great. I bought my wife a Nano a while back. Second time she took it out, she broke the screen and they still gave me a new one.

That's how I thought it worked, thanks for the info.

Is this where I vote for Ipod again and again? I am from Chicago, ya know.

Re: In your opinion anything better the Ipod

I vote iPod for a variety of reasons.
  • Easy interface on device
  • Easy to use iTunes Store
  • Tons of accessories easily available
  • Most cars have an iPod interface
  • Apple Customer Support

Although other devices have unique features; I have yet to see a device be all-around better than an iPod.

Re: In your opinion anything better the Ipod

I've had 2 creative zens. The first one had a problem with transfering info from computer to MP3 player, but the 2nd one has that bug fixed with a standard USB connection. This one has worked great and if she wants to watch movies the screen has decent resolution and a large storage capability for the size (32GB). Thereis also a slot for an SD card so that you can expand thememory capability.
The key is what you want and the price you are willing to pay. Good luck

Re: In your opinion anything better the Ipod

I am a moderate user of portable audio--no big compulsion to watch movies while I'm waiting at a red light, or out at lunch, that sort of thing. When I walk places, I tend to be taking in the world, not Justin Timberlake's Sexy Back.

Given these needs I picked up a 2nd Gen Nano two years ago and found it decent--used it when I work out, and for long road trips where having a long playlist run through the aux input in the car meant no changing of CDs at 90 mph. Never had any problems with it, and aside from its tendency to get scratched by that woman's silk blouse as I pass her in the hall, no problems or complaints to speak of. Good dumb device.

About a month ago I picked up a 3G iPhone to replace a business blackberry and personal cell phone. Mega improvement in Apple's product offerings--a really fantastic, engaging personal media/communications device. While I still don't pack my earbuds in my pocket so as to catch a few minutes of Scrubs while making my morning release in the office toilet, I do find that I'm checking email, noting changes to my calendar by my assistant, and checking weather and stocks on the fly. The iPhone soothes my need for information fixes just about any time I need one, and that's a fantastic unintended benefit.

Not a huge Apple fan; have always owned PCs. After the experience I've had with the iPhone so far, if Apple would get off their @sses and release a notebook with two mouse buttons, I'd consider switching.
