In your opinion anything better the Ipod

Hi,

My wife is asking me for an Ipod for a long time. I finaly decide it's time to treat her with somthing. I have a 80GB Ipod for my self. I don't think she needs somthing hold that many songs. I can get her a Nano or a diffent type of MP3 player. Do you feel Ipod is the best or any of you have better ideas for somthing cheaper? She would be happy with anything that holds songs thats it.

Ive had 3 different ipods and finally got rid of them....I hate ipods and even more itunes...

I bought a 80gb microsoft zune awhile ago and have been happy ever since...I also pay for the zune pass which is $15 a month and you can dowload all the music you want. My fiancee has one of my old ipods and hates it also....She wants a 8gb zune really bad after using the zune software

I have a nano, and it goes everywhere with me. I usually listen to audio books from the library on it, but have some tunes there too.

I have the old refurb 30gb ZUNE. Got it off woot.com for $99 about a year ago. I love it.

It has a huge screen and the thing just works. I love the wireless sync with my computer. I never have to plug the thing in!

When they came out with the new models they did something that really earned my respect. The new versions had all the great bells and whistles like what crapple does with there pods. But they pushed a free firmware update (unlike crapple) for the old versions so that you wern't left out in the cold with an out of date ZUNE.

100% satisfied and the old models can be found for $130 new.

Have you personally dealt with Apple? I have found them to have some of the best customer service I have ever been priviliged to receive. Don't know why it rubbed me wrong when I read "craapple", I know it had nothing to do with me...but for some reason, it irked me.

I have 3 IPODs and love every one of them. My favorite is the shuffle which clips to your hat, shirt, etc. which is totally handsfree.

I have a 30 gig I pod that I love, but that $15 a month Zune deal sounds very tempting and I will now be looking into that.

Are the songs you download compatible with the I-pod?

No microsoft is smarter than that But there is a way if you have multiple zunes to take advantage of one zune pass membership...

The zune pass is the best thing that has hapened to me in the music dept....I hear a song then go on there and download every album (even rare stuff) that artist has ever come out with

I don't believe they are. I think Zune is a subscription service, so your songs are only good for as long as you keep the subscription, and not transferable to Ipod. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

I love my ipods! My buddy that works for Microsoft wants an ipod but can't bring himself to go against his company . I also found an iMac at his house, his response to that was "I only run windows on it."

Actually you have the option to just buy the music and keep it forever. The zune pass if you do not pay will make the songs not work. Heck $15 a month is the price of one CD a month....I download at least 10-20 albums every 2 weeks on zune pass. Now there is a way to I guess hack into the system or convert the files so that you can keep the music but I dont agree with that kind of activity



Of course you can add your CD music or music you already own onto the zune also
