Best of luck to you. I have had a meniscus repaired twice (both times in conjuction with ACL replacement and once with MCL repair)...the meniscus was sort of a side note, the ACL and MCL were the ones that were difficult. The best advice I can give is follow directions exactly as given, ask lots of questions (my surgeons were always ruching to get out of the room and I had to kind of force them to stop and tell me what was going on), and do the damn exercises everyday just like they say. Once exercises are done, get in the gym and keep working the leg. Should be an easy procedure and fast recovery for him. Good luck, will keep you and he in my prayers.

We saw the orthapedic surgeon today. He looked at the MRI and confirmed the tear in the meniscus and also showed us some ligament damage. He asked my son if he played basketball and when my son said yes, he said "we better get this done on Friday, then". So, Friday it is!

Good decision! My wife never had her meniscus excised and now suffers from constant knee pain. Better to have the surgery now, Bro! Thoughts and prayers are with you and your son for a good result!

Speedy recovery to your son. I used to waterski and there were very few jumpers who hadn't had that surgery.

He'll have all kinds of cool scar stories to tell the girls one day.
