Anyway, I got my results back on my PE test today and I passed this time. Thats a relief. Thank God that He let me pass this time and I don't have to study for it again.

You know, I flunked my first pe test back in the 70's, something about being stupid and smoking, Congrats and Glad you past the Big PE test. I always hated test, same thing you been studing for the last few months and then they want you to remember just a few things. Enjoy a great smoke

I was planning on smoking a Monte Afrique Sublimation that was gifted to me in May from a friend's dad. He told me to smoke it on a good ocassion. I have been saving it until I passed this test, but due to temp and not feeling so well I still haven't had that victory smoke. In fact I don't think I've smoked in over 2 weeks. I need to find an indoor smoking facility.

Not sure what a PE test is, unless it is a physical examination. (?) I know how you feel, as I am having studying nightmares preparing to take the bar exam (and that's not the one with the cocktail shaker.)

Professional Engineering Test. It is to Engineering as the Bar is to Law. It says that all that education was not enough to determine if you can be an engineer, so we give you a one day test to determine that. In my opinion, I think it is a dumb process but that's the way it is. There are plenty of great engineers who can't pass the test so does that make them less professional?

Gotta say that as a practicing Professional Engineer (structural), the tests aren't nearly rigorous enough. Engineering education has gotten way too generalized and not kept pace with the increasing complexities of actual engineering practice. The tests are designed to determine minimum competence, and that is pretty much what they do. I cannot tell you how many projects I have had to salvage, stop, or otherwise clean up because another PE was in over his/her head and didn't know it. That being said, there has to be some kind of system in place to determine which engineers are fit to practice in the public arena as the final engineering authority. Testing is the logical means of that selection, as with other professional fields such as medicine, law, etc.

That all being said, you passed! Celebrate!
