David Lee Roth

This is the worst morning show I have ever heard. I was hoping it would be so bad it was funny. But it is too bad to even be funny.

We do not need to hear a balding middle aged man interviewing his elderly uncle. We need Diamond Dave telling us wild road stories of sex with groupies. Instead he is telling us wheat he thinks should be put on Ground Zero and how Bono is wasting his time with all this world hunger crap and should stick with being a Rock Star.

Dave deserves a commission on each Sirius Subscription that is sold this week!!!

Only six days to Howard.

Yeah this morning on XM, Opie and Anthony were bagging on his show. They were making fun of the way he tries to sing over songs that he plays. And they're not even his songs LOL

I'm not sure it'll last long... I mean how much "Bosily Boddly Bop!" can a guy take?

I heard a little of Diamond Dave this morning in WBCN and thought he was OK. He mixes in music too. I would like to also hear his tour stories, but someone will have to call in and ask I feel.

Half the songs he sang in VH were covers too.

He needs someone else in the studio with him. It would be better if he were playing music without talking over it. THey are too afraid to take phone calls, because they will goof on him. I guess they are afraid Captain Janks will call in.

I am glad I got my Sirius Radio. Next week I can listen to Stern, then Death Metal later in the day!!!

It is definately not the same. But,today is only the first day. I will give it some time.

He needs to stop singing and joke around more.

He needs someone to joke around with. He had 4 or 5 guys in the studio who did not add a single thing to the show. He needs a Robin Quivers type to throw talk to who will keep him focused on a topic and not a bunch of guys who will laugh in the background when he says something that really was not that funny!!!

The Stern show did a better job a couple of months ago when they had the DLR impersonator do the fake show when they pretended that Stern was taken off the air.

Re: David Lee Roth

C'mon...only a true rock genius could write the lyrics below!!

Too bad...I saw DLR in '84 with Van Halen, and he was quite entertaining...times have changed, Dave has not.

Hot Dog And A Shake

I see ya shake and shimmy
Cross the burger shop floor
I never seen a woman move so slow
I'm dyin' French fryin' by the seat of my pants
Take a bite of double fries
Swear to God it make ya late for the dance

One shot for the real go-getter
Silly rabbit, you know just what it takes

A hot dog and a shake
That's what you're hungry for
A hot dog and a shake

My stomach's makin' noise we're having dinner late
Cuz I gotta be kept in a cool dry place
Just like any bowl of cherries
When the cream is risin' to the top
You find your real bottom line is
When your spine snap crackle and pops, pal

Give me one to go
Hey buddy, take a number
She can't say no to what it takes

A hot dog and a shake
That's what you're hungry for
A hot dog and a shake

I'm more than just a victim of a hungry heart
Kiss me quick I'm double-parked

Just like any bowl of cherries
When the cream is risin' to the top
You find your real bottom line is
When your spine snap crackle and pops, pal

Give me one to go hey buddy, take a number
She can't say no to what it takes

A hot dog and a shake
That's what you're hungry for
A hot dog and a shake

David Lee Roth was one of the greatest frontmen in Rock History. The work he did from the First Van Halen record to his forst Solo Album were fantastic.

THe last 20 years he has become a shell of what he once was but is still entertaining in small doses. I do not think I can deal with him for 20 hours a week. I do not see his show lasting 6 months without a major overhaul. He will do for Morning Radio what Magic Johnson did for Late Night TV.

Re: David Lee Roth

Diamond Dave was indeed a great showman in his prime, IMO. A lot of his schtick (sp?) is actually self-satire, or at least it used to be, and in some ways, he kept Van Halen from taking itself too seriously in the early days. I do agree with the sentiment that he needs someone to balance him out. He's always needed someone to balance him out.

Is he on XM or something? I must have missed it.

Re: David Lee Roth

The station he took over on here in NY was the only newer rock station in town and now it is all talk. Made me go out an buy an XM setup, had it a week now and I don't know how I lived without it.
