Photoshop books?

So im trying to teach myself photoshop, I have one book, and its great, but Im nearing the end, and its just a basics book so im going to be looking for something that will cover both the basics and more advanced techniques.

Im using CS2, any recommendations?

Oh and I refuse to buy a for dummies/idiots book so discount those.

One book ive seen was the CS2 Bible havent had a chance to look at it in person but it looks intersting.

Re: Photoshop books?

Way back when I was first getting into Photoshop - I picked up several books but the one I liked the most was put out by Adobe. It was the Adobe Photoshop 5.0 Certification Guide. Came with a CD. Covered everything and has review questions.

I'm sure they are still making the cert guide - a quick search shows a lot of downloads - seems they should have a book on it somewhere.

Re: Photoshop books?

Go to lynda.com and see if they have anything for Photoshop CS2. I bought Adobe Photoshop CS3 for Photographers, its a video training book and it was pretty good. It included video turtorials, a reference guide and exercise files.

Re: Photoshop books?

I've yet to get a book. It's been on a to-do list for a long time. I've picked up most of what I know from tutorials. Try good-tutorials.com

Re: Photoshop books?

when I started with Photoshop CIAB was the best thing going, been a long time but it looks like they're still making them:
http://www.google.com/products/catal...869#ps-sellers

I'm sure I still have the PS v3 CiaB around here somewhere, I'm sure it's all still very applicable, the tools are the same but more have been added. Holler if you're interested in the ancient manuscript

The first tutorial site I ever ran across was http://www.handson.nu/ and I've never seen one as good, if you complete the simple tutorials there you will know more than 90% of the photoshop jockeys out there. To laugh because it's old and a bit dated would be doing so at your own expense
