Why wear a watch? My iPhone tells me what time it is.

You'll look great facilitating a working meeting that the exec is sitting in and checking the iPhone to ensure you're on track. You can't even have cell phones where I work. Leave them in your car or outside of the secure area.

Re: What kind of watch do you wear?

Wow. I see a LOT of nice watches here!

Mine is a Russian Vostok 'Strizhy Ace'. Its probably the most durable mechanical watch on the planet, it proudly wears the 'battle damage' over years of abuse at work (the light hid some of it though). As you can see, its not exactly stylish, or perfectly accurate, or very light, but it does have a lot of character. And the Su-33 fighter is just cool.

I might be getting a Poljot Chronograph soon for more formal occasions.

Where I work, people will actually think something is wrong if you don't check your phone every 15 minutes or so.

What I said before was mainly in jest, though I haven't worn a wrist watch on more than 10 years. On occasions where I do carry a watch, it's a vintage James Dubois key wind pocket watch.
