US Army Reserves Medical Services Corps, 1985-1993, with all stateside units: Charleston, SC; Camp Shelby, MS; and Baltimore. My dad was military (Korea & Vietnam x2) and now my son is second year AROTC at college. Guess you can say it runs in the family.

Re: Have you served in this country's armed forces?

Spent 4 years on active duty in the Marines 98-02. First duty station was Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan. I was a combat admin () I did awards, IT, travel orders, oversaw inspections for the commanding general.

Second duty station was Garden City, NY where I was the statistician for all of the North East recruiting headquarters.

I miss those days since I loved almost every minute of it. Nothing beats the comradeship in the Corps.

Re: Have you served in this country's armed forces?

Consideration,

I'm not sure how accurate your poll needs to be. Taking a poll here is probably going to be skewed in error to having more servered here than the US at large. Do to the troop support here and getting them involvel in CS and that birds of a feather tend to flock together, your going to have higher number that served. At this time it 35 - 31 and I promise you that no way has over 50% of the population served in the Armed Forces (I wish it was so though).

Same thing on most motorcycle forums, you will find that the military presense on those boards are also skewed compared to the US norm.

20 years US Navy - retired.

Have to agree - certain groups tend to have a higher concentration. The several truck diesel boards I belong to tend to run higher in those serving/served.

This poll in no way will reflect 'actual population,' but rather how the percentage of veterans in a group provides a willingness to support troops in our current state of affairs. Needless to say having this near 50/50 split isn't at all surprising given the level of support we provide While I'll have nothing really to counter this data to prove 'the opposite point,' it isn't meant to be THAT complicated of an assignment.

It's useful data, I promise you that
