Re: Have you served in this country's armed forces?
I have not but I get goose bumps every time I think about it. I like what I do now but wished that I did my part. I cant now as I have a contract for a couple of years with my current job.
But thanks guys for all that you do.

Re: Have you served in this country's armed forces?
I was a Navy Corpsman attached to the USMC from '87 to '91. My units were a counter intelligence team and a tank batallion (at different times, of course). No combat experience.

Re: Have you served in this country's armed forces?
not yet
once I finish pharmacy school (may 2010) I plan to join the Navy for at least 3 years. I'm gonna get my loans paid off and see if it's a good career option for me. Both mine and my wife's grandfathers were submariners in WWII (mine) and Korea (hers). |

Re: Have you served in this country's armed forces?
USAF 1969-1973
-Keesler AFB Biloxi Mississippi - Electronics Schooling & Hurricane Camille Survivor (69-70) -North Camp Drake - Tokyo - Cryptographic Communications for Far East Command (70-72) Andersen AFB Guam - Part of Linebacker 2 - December 17th 1972 - Bombing the Hell out of North Vietnam. June 1st 1973 - Travis Air Force Base California. Came home to be discharged with a plane load of Vietnam survivors, only to be scolded and labeled by by protesters as baby killers. Wish I would have decided to stay in instead of being discharged, but back then it was not a appreciated job by many. I miss feeling like I made a damn to the country as we did back then. Too many people now don't really understand the importance of holding your hand over your heart, or saluting the flag, or even being free..... Im very proud to have served. -Danny

Hey Tim,
It would be an awesome career choice, if you like what you're doing. Officers make a ton of money.
