Have you served in this country's armed forces?

I'm conducting a survey for a school project. A rather simple essay topic, but I thought this would be an excellent venue given the troop support around here. I'll just calculate the percentages by the number of no's to yes's.

So if you have served in this country's armed forces, make your mark and tell me a bit about it(when, where, what branch). If you know any other CS member who hasn't come forth, list them to.

Also if you served for another country, mark the third option. I'd still like to hear about it.

And most importantly, thank you all for your service!

EDIT: If you are currently serving overseas, make sure you include that info for me

I was on a US Navy cruiser in Yokosuka, Japan in the late eighties and early nineties. Met a lot of great people from around the country and glad for the experience.

Yes, indeed. I have been Active Duty Air Force for almost 8 years. Just to prove I'm not lying here is a photo from 2006 when I was promoted to Staff Sergeant.

I've been stationed in Korea, Alaska, Texas, Mississippi, California. I've been TDY abroad including the AOR and Japan and Okinawa.

I served in the U.S. Air Force (AFSC 208X5A) from 1987 to 1991. I spent time in California, Texas, Washington, Greece and Great Britain. And, also, I was pretty much in the last group of Airmen to make E4 Sergeant before they phased it out.

Marines - 1993 to 1998. Did a Med' cruise in '95 - my unit rescued Scott O'Grady (I was on the backup team, not the "go" team). Spent 6 months in Okinawa as well. Fond memories of those days, now I'm overweight and under-exercised!

Yep. Back then, when someone made Buck, they could just use a blue Sharpie to color in the star on their subdued Senior Airman stripes!
