So why didn't you beat up the 12 year old? I mean that is the manly thing to do right? Of course it is not nearly as manly unless it is a female, but manly non-the-less. Try using that as your defense in Florida if caught doing that.
You will have a tough sentence for assault and battery, make lots of new friends that will truly "love" you, and will have to serve 85% of your term before they can consider you for parole.
Assault is assault regardless of provocation.
It is not a legal defense to words said to you.
You cannot legally respond to someone's words with physical attacks.

Unnecessary violence is everywhere, on every side (You pick your Demographic, In this case you chose Law Enforcement) I am speaking specifically about this Thread this video... Hitting her was wrong no matter what she said that offended his sensibilities. Even his child knew it was wrong and stepped in to stop it! Freedom of speech wins over freedom to assault every time.
