What are we gonna say?

I have always thought "Welcome to the Jungle" was edgy and cool to say to new folks just signing up. Well maybe not edgy or that cool but it didn't suck. Had the linkage to our theme and to a classic song.

So now we are going to be called Puff.com. I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Welcome to the land of the puffers?

Puff welcomes you?

Now you're a puffer too?

Arrgh!

Honestly at first I dont see myself being too active on the main board. Its hard enough keeping up with the new threads here daily.

If we're still going to have the same logo/mascot on our part of the board, then why can't we stick with the jungle?

Thanks to Nick at Nite and TV Land I am!

As an aside, if we are going to "assimilate" the CS culture into the new site, why should we eliminate the Gorilla from the sub-form or stop saying "Welcome to the Jungle!"?

For Jon, he must want the true value of his investment to remain, if not he could have just started up a new site...

Maybe I am out of line and unless a couple of the Mods jump all over me - I will continue to speak as if it is the same CS Jungle and I invite all of you to do the same.

For personal ethical reasons I will never call myself a puffer (with all due respect if you are reading Jon), because as an adult I am neither hip nor edgy however I will be here to support you in your new endeavour and the BOTL and SOTL I have come to know and respect.

Re: What are we gonna say?

If you live in Beverly Hills, you wouldn't say "I'm from LA".

If we do get to keep Club Stogie basically the same, hopefully we can just ignore the fact that it's part of the Puff conglomerate, and keep on herfin in the jungle.

Re: What are we gonna say?

My own personal welcome will go something like this: "Welcome to this nice forum. I'm sure you're going to like it here and we are going to become great friends. There are a few standard forms I'd like for you to take a look at. These documents are standard forum stuff; Non Compete, I'm Cooler Than You, etc type forms. Please sign them and send originals via registered mail to the address in my profile. I'll also need a copy of both sides of your photo ID and your Social Security card. There is also a list of my favorite cigars in my profile. If you could put a box or two of any of these in your registered mail package, I can make things easier for you here."
